The drama of the Divisional Round continues today when the top-seeded Kansas City Chiefs make their 2021 NFL Playoffs debut. They host the giant-killing Cleveland Browns in an AFC clash set to kickoff at 3.05pm ET.
Last year’s Super Bowl champions lead the all-time series 13-11-2, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes is hot favourite to win MVP having clocked up 38 touchdowns. but this will be the first time Kansas have met Cleveland in the postseason, so anything’s possible.
The Browns booked their spot in the Divisional Round by upsetting the Steelers 48-37 in last weekend’s Wild Card Round. Beating the no.1 seeds and odds-on Super Bowl favourites will be an uphill battle but if Baker Mayfield posts an ESPN quarterback rating of 100 of more, the Browns could grab a famous victory.
Injured Browns wide receiver has blasted critics on Twitter: “Don’t be surprised this weekend when they win.. just throwin’ it out there now.”
